Southport & Birkdale Croquet Club

It has been impossible for Landscapes to cut and white line the lawns this week due to the heavy rain and consequent flooding, I have been down at 8 this morning Thursday, and lawns two and three remain flooded and the others are still wet underfoot therefore they can not possibly be cut till Tuesday at the earliest. Inevitably it will be dry this weekend and members will complain that no cutting has taken place, I hope this sets the record straight.
Hopefully things will improve and we can get onto cutting etc next week.

Finally due to the long winter, maintenance is several weeks behind schedule and the lack of any spring sunshine has delayed new growth, evidence of maintenance work will be visible for some time yet, the lawns are scheduled to be sprayed, fed and scarified again over the next two weeks, and some disruption to members play may occur.
